Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has found himself in the spotlight this
week, initially when being cleared of tax evasion charges and subsequently in
the wake of Fabio Capello’s departure from the England manager’s position.
Redknapp is favourite for that job, and the speculation could be an unwelcome
distraction ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Newcastle. On the
pitch, Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker believes Tottenham can maintain their
challenge at the top of the league, despite an unremarkable performance in
Monday’s goalless draw at Liverpool. Parker said: “Our mentality is that we are
coming to places like Anfield and we are not going to roll over easily.” He told
the Evening Standard: “It has been a fantastic season and we still have a long
way to go but we need to stay strong and build.”
